Restoring data from a memory card after formatting

Restoring data from a memory card after formatting can be a difficult task, but in most cases the data can be successfully restored with the help of special programs.

Before starting the process, it is recommended to perform several actions:

1. Stop using the memory card and stop writing new files to it. This prevents possible damage to already deleted data.
2. Avoid any manipulations with the card itself (for example, its physical connector) to avoid loss or damage of information.

Next, follow these steps to restore your data:

Step 1: Download software
There are many free and commercial data recovery programs, such as Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard or Disk Drill. Choose a suitable program and download it to your computer.

Step 2: Connecting the memory card to the computer
Use a USB card reader/SD card adapter to connect your SD card to your computer via a USB port.

Step 3: Start the storage device search program
Run the selected data recovery program and select the "File Recovery" option or a similar name.

Step 4: Choosing a storage device
Select a memory card from the list of available devices. Usually they are displayed with the size, file type and other parameters.

Step 5: Scanning the memory card
Start scanning your SD card. The program will go over the entire map to find deleted data.

Step 6: View scan results
Upon completion of the scanning process, the program will display a list of found files. Read the list and check the recovery items you need.

Step 7: Restoring data to a new location

If all the necessary files were found successfully, select a new directory (not the same SD card) to save these files after the recovery operation.
