Will restore data in WhatsApp
Restoring data in WhatsApp can be a fairly simple process if you regularly back up your chats. Here are some ways to recover data:
1. Use cloud storage: If you have a Google Drive (for Android) or iCloud (for iPhone) account, WhatsApp automatically saves your chat history on the servers of these services. When reinstalling the application after uninstalling or changing the phone, you will receive an offer to restore data from the cloud.
2. Local backup for Android: Some users can use the local backup function to an SD card or another storage location on their Android device. You can check this by going to “WhatsApp > Database” and find the file with the extension .db.crypt12 (database version number). When transferring this file to a new phone, it will be possible to import it through the "Restore" menu.
3. Manual export/import of messages: This requires more time and work from the user, but is also one of the methods for saving old messages without using cloud services.
– We make a backup copy of the chat in WhatsApp on the old device (Settings > Chats > Chat backup).
- Connect the new device and download the application.
– During the settings process, you will receive an offer about the possibility of importing data from the cloud or local storage. Select the appropriate menu item to import.
Please also refer to the WhatsApp documentation for more detailed information on each data recovery method.
