Restoration of the railway
Recovery of the hard disk (HDD) may be necessary if it is damaged or malfunctions. Here are some steps that can be taken to request the restoration of railways:
1. Check the connection: Make sure that the SATA or IDE cable and the power supply are correctly connected both to the HDD itself and to the motherboard.
2. Run an error check: Windows OS has a CHKDSK (Check Disk) tool that helps detect and correct disk errors. You can call this utility through the command line with parameters /f (fix – fix the problems found) or /r (recover – scan all sectors).
3. Use software from third-party developers: There are many third-party applications specially created to repair damaged HDD drives.
4. Use Live CD/USB of Linux systems: If your computer boots from a removable medium of the Linux operating system without problems reading data from the hard disk, it will be possible to use ddrescue/dd_rescue/gddrescue/testdisk/fsck/badblocks/smartctl/hdparm/etc techniques.
5. Contact professionals: If all of the above methods did not help, you should contact a service center or a computer and data repair specialist for additional help.
It is important to note that there is always a risk of losing data forever when trying to restore the hard drive independently. Therefore, before starting any manipulations with your hard drive, it is better to create a full backup copy of it on another drive or use software for extracting information without records (recovery software).
