Restoration of a damaged sd card
Recovering a damaged SD card can be a complicated process, but there are several methods you can try.
1. Check the physical condition of the card: make sure that the contacts on the card and in the reader are clean and there are no visible damaged or broken contacts. If problems with the physical structure of the card or connector are detected, the card itself may need to be replaced or the connector repaired/replaced.
2. Use data recovery software: many companies offer special software products to recover data from an SD card after it has been damaged (for example, Recuva). Install only verified programs from official sites so as not to get an additional infection of your computer system.
3. Verification through the Windows command line:
– Refuse to use automatically launched windows when connecting a new USB / Flash Drive
– Search for “COMMAND” using windows search
– Run COMMAND as an administrative user
– Type “chkdsk /f X:” (where X: is the drive letter of the SD card)
– Press Enter and wait for the scanning process to complete. This may take some time.
4. Use a specialized hardware tool to restore data from a damaged card if all other methods do not work or the data on the card is very valuable.
In any case, it is recommended to create a backup copy of all your data before trying to restore information from a broken SD card to avoid losing files in case of possible erroneous operations.
