Restoring an Android backup

Restoring a backup copy on an Android device can be useful in case of data loss, system failure, or when transferring information to a new device. In this article, I will talk about several ways to restore backup copies.

1. Using a Google Account: If you have activated the automatic backup function through your Google Account, then after connecting a new device or performing a factory reset, you can select the “Restore from the cloud” option and specify your account to retrieve all saved data (contact list, photos, desktop widgets, etc.).

2. Third-party software tools: Despite the fact that the Android operating system provides basic capabilities for creating and restoring backup files (for example, ADB Backup), many developers release additional software with complex encryption/archiving/synchronization algorithms that allow you to do extensive work on user data

3. Manufacturer's application: Many manufacturers of Android devices offer their own applications for creating and restoring backup copies. For example, Samsung has Smart Switch, which allows you to transfer data between different Galaxy models, or HTC Sync Manager from HTC.

4. Manual restoration: If you have not used any tools to create a backup copy of data on your Android device, then you can save photos and videos by connecting the phone to the computer via a USB cable (provided that the file transfer function is activated). Contacts can be exported from the Google address book as vCard (.vcf) files.

It is important to remember the importance of regularly creating backup files in order to minimize the loss of information in case of any problems with old/new devices
