Recovery of a raw flash drive

Restoring a flash drive that is displayed as RAW (unformatted) can be a difficult task. However, there are several methods that you can try to restore data from such a flash drive.

1. Use a data recovery program: There are many free and commercial programs specifically designed to recover lost or damaged files on drives. Some of the most popular tools are Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, and TestDisk/PhotoRec.

2. Check the disk through Windows Disk Manager: To check the status of your data storage device (flash drive), you can use the "Check" function available through the context menu of Windows Disk Manager.
a) Go to My computer or This computer
b) Select the desired USB flash drive by right-clicking the mouse
c) Select a property from the drop-down list
d) Go to the "Tools" tab -> the "Check" button

3. Formatting the flash drive: If all other methods did not help, then the last option is formatting the flash drive. However, keep in mind that formatting will delete all data from the media.

4. Use the command line: If you know the basics of working with the Windows command line, you can try using the chkdsk tool to check and correct errors on your USB drive.
a) Run the Command Prompt from the administrative account
b) Enter the following command: chkdsk X:/f (where X is the letter assigned to your storage device)

5. Seek the help of a professional: If all the described methods did not give results or if the loss of data is very significant for you, it is better to contact data recovery specialists. These companies use specialized software and technical equipment to extract information from complex damaged media as much as possible.
