Restoring information on a flash drive

Restoring the information on the flash drive may be necessary if the data was accidentally deleted or the device became inoperable. In this article, I will talk about various methods of data recovery from flash drives.

1. Using specialized software: There are many data recovery programs that allow you to scan and extract files from a damaged or formatted flash drive. Some of the most popular tools include Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, and Disk Drill.

2. Checking the basket: If you accidentally deleted files from your flash drive, the first place to check is the Trash on the computer (if you used the "delete" function without permanent deletion). Just find the associated drive corresponding to your USB flash drive and browse the contents of the trash.

3. Formatting through the command line: If your flash drive has the wrong FAT32/NTFS/exFAT/FAT16/etc. system file format, you can perform the format operation through the Windows command line:

a) Open Start -> Run and type cmd to open command prompt.
b) Type “format X: /FS:FAT32” (where X is the drive letter of your flash drive), then press Enter. This will perform formatting with the FAT32 file system.

4. Use of specialized data recovery services: If all of the above methods did not help, or if the device is hardware damaged, you can contact professional data recovery companies. They have special equipment and experience for extracting information from damaged drives.

In any case, it is recommended to stop using the flash drive after data loss until it is successfully restored, as new entries to the device can lead to complete or partial overwriting of deleted files and significantly complicate the process of possible future information restoration
