Recovery of excel files
Recovery of Excel files may be necessary if they have been damaged or deleted by mistake. Here are some methods and tools that can help you recover lost data.
1. Use the "Open and Repair" function - this is a standard function of the Microsoft Excel program for automatic repair of damaged files. To use it, open the Excel application, select the "File" menu item, then "Open". Find the desired file on your computer and right-click on its name. Select the "Open and restore" option.
2. Creating a new file from a temporary file - If you find a temporary (.tmp) file with the same name as the lost Excel document, then there is a chance to use this temporary file to create a new working copy of the data. To do this, simply go to the location where these tmf files are stored and copy all the contents.
3. Checking the Windows/Mac Trash - check your Windows/Mac Trash/Trash, the file may have been deleted by mistake and is still there.
4. Use data recovery programs – There are special third-party programs that can help recover lost Excel files. Some of them are: Recuva (for Windows), Disk Drill (available for both Windows and Mac) or EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard.
5. Contact your system administrator - If you work with a computer at work or use a shared data storage server, it is best to contact the support service so that they can check the backup copy of your work.
It is important to note that the chances of successful recovery depend on various factors, such as the level of damage to the file and the user's actions after its removal/damage. Therefore, the sooner you take the necessary measures to correct this process, the greater the probability of success
