Extract the files from the damaged disk
Sometimes the files on the disk can be damaged due to physical or logical problems. Here are some methods you can try to recover data from a damaged drive:
1. Use data recovery software: There are many software tools, such as Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, and TestDisk & PhotoRec, that help you scan a damaged drive and extract data.
2. Connect the hard drive to a second computer: If your current computer cannot recognize or read data from the damaged drive, connect it to a second operating system via a SATA/IDE USB adapter or using an IDE/SATA to USB adapter.
3. Boot from a Live CD/DVD or flash drive: Create a bootable flash drive (or use a ready-made LiveCD) with third-party utilities for working with data on a non-working hard drive (Hiren's BootCD is one of the most popular).
4. Seek professional help: If all other methods did not work and the information is very valuable to you, it is recommended to contact data recovery specialists. They have professional software and hardware that can help recover data from a damaged drive.
It is important to note that when working with damaged data, there is always a risk of losing part or all of the files. Therefore, before starting work, create a backup copy of all available data on another reliable drive to prevent possible information loss.
