HDD recovery

Hard disk recovery (HDD) can be a difficult task, but in some cases you can try to perform several steps to regain access to the data.

1. Check the connection: Make sure that the HDD is correctly connected and working. Reconnect the SATA or IDE cable and make sure it is of good quality.
2. Use another computer/USB port: If you use an external HDD through USB ports, try using it on another computer or change the USB port.
3. Run the Windows error checking program: In Windows operating systems, there is a CHKDSK (Check Disk) tool that helps correct file system errors on the hard disk.
– Open the command prompt on behalf of the administrator
– Enter “chkdsk X:” without quotes (“X” is replaced by your drive letter)
4. Use specialized software:
a) TestDisk is a powerful tool for data recovery from various types of information drives;
b) Recuva - the program offers the possibility of scanning deleted data for certain types of files;
c) GetDataBack – the program offers data recovery from various storage devices, such as HDD and SSD hard drives.
5. Contact a professional service: If all the above methods did not help, then it is better to contact data recovery specialists for help.

It is important to note that there is always a risk of permanent data loss when attempting self-repair or using data recovery programs. Therefore, before starting any manipulations with the HDD, it is worth creating a full backup of it on another reliable data storage device.
