Restoring data after formatting the hard disk
Restoring data after formatting a hard drive can be a difficult task, but in most cases, data can be returned with the help of special programs.
Before starting the data recovery process, you must stop using the formatted disk and stop writing new files to it. This is due to the fact that during formatting, the operating system only deletes information about the location of files on the disk, and the content of the file itself remains physically accessible until it is overwritten with other data.
There are many programs for data recovery after formatting a hard drive. Some of the popular tools are:
1. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard
2. Recuva
3. Stellar Data Recovery
These programs have functionality for scanning formatted partitions or the entire hard drive and identifying deleted files for subsequent recovery.
When starting such programs, follow the instructions for selecting the desired section or the entire file system (if a complete cleaning was performed) for scanning and the options that are being prepared for work: where will the found results be saved; typical filters by file type, size and deletion date.
After the scan is complete, the program will provide a list of found files. You can preview the contents of each file to check its integrity before recovery. Then select the desired files and specify the save location on another drive (not the same hard drive from which recovery is performed).
It is important to note that not all data can be completely restored after formatting the hard drive. Possible cases of damaged data or overwriting of information with new data before the start of the recovery process.
To avoid data loss, it is always recommended to back up all important files to a separate drive or use cloud storage.
