Data has disappeared from the hard drive

Losing data from a hard drive can be a very unpleasant and stressful situation. However, there are several steps that can be taken to recover lost files.

1. Check the correct connection: Make sure that the SATA or USB cable (depending on the type of your drive) is correctly connected both to the hard drive itself and to the computer.

2. Use another port/connector: If possible, switch your connection to another available port or connector on the computer's motherboard or use an alternative USB adapter.

3. Replacement of a damaged controller: In cases of physical damage to the HDD controller, you can seek help from specialists in the repair of these devices to replace it or restore the functionality of the problematic element.

4. Software data recovery:
– Using the program to restore deleted files.
There are many free programs (Recuva, TestDisk) that can scan your hard drive
drive and extract deleted files.
– Refer to professionals: If all of the above did not help, and the data is very important for
you, it is better to seek help from a data recovery specialist. They have access
to more complex software and methods of working with damaged disks.

In any case, I recommend creating a backup copy of your data for the future. This will avoid information loss in the event of such unforeseen events.
